I am excited to announce that today my fifth novel, The Cryptic Liaison, is available to all. Cryptic continues the Love of a Lifetime series with the action story now moving to Vienna. Following the events of Patagonian Affair, Christian is on the run and hiding out on the other side of the world. Questioning his life decisions, he meets a mysterious mathematical prodigy who could hold the key to unlocking vast wealth. But every choice comes at a cost and Christian then has to decide just how far he will go.

In other news, just to keep things fresh, I’ve also been working on a collection of short stories, ENF is Enough. I am excited to be able to offer everyone some lighter reading than my usual fare. But don’t think I’ll skimp on the content. There will enough here to fill a novel so anyone looking for variety and substance will find it here. ENF is Enough will hit the shelves in June 2025.

Finally, come December I will release what is likely to be the final chapter in the side story, The Other Woman the Rules of Engagement. Always a fan of a well-executed plot twist, Rules will deliver all the final clues to set up the finale of the LoaL series, The End of an Affair. Look out for Rules to be ready to read by Christmas 2025.

The Doctor Recommends – Deadwood
Something different this week. Long before Game of Thrones, True Detective (S1) and Chernobyl, HBO had a little show called Deadwood. For me this, along with Rome, was the one that began it all, the Golden Age of television. Deadwood was violent, confronting and vile and it was magnificent. Never before or since had there been an accurate depiction of the old West put on the screen with so much love and attention to detail. The writing has never been surpassed, the acting top notch and the world building so memorable. A show that forever seared the names Miltch, Oliphant, McShane into my cultural memory. And a single word: COCKSUCKER!
