Back to the Future
Writers draw inspiration from many sources. Sometimes it is from history; others it comes from their imagination. Other times it is a combination of both, and on some days another writer has shone a light for you where before there was only darkness.
This week I’d like to give an example of both. This morning at 3am, I woke with an idea. My idea wouldn’t go away, so over the next hour I worked on it in my head as I lay. My inspiration came from discussions at work this week about how some colleagues treat others as they pursue promotions.
This inspired my story, No Protocol, which I have yet to write. It is about a naughty young diplomat, Donna, who has climbed over the backs of her colleagues to get ahead. She is rewarded for her efforts by becoming the youngest ever ambassador and being selected to represent her country at a newly independent tropical island nation. But in her efforts to succeed, she has made enemies, and they have been plotting their revenge. With some willing suspension of disbelief, they convince her that the king and his government insist that all official business is conducted in traditional dress. That is; naked. What happens to Donna when she presents her credentials? You’ll have to wait to find out.
The second inspiration this week came from a fellow writer. Checking in on some sites linking to my blog, I stumbled across this post by Ambyr Leigh on the subject of anal sex.
As an erotica author, one of my favorite things to write is anal sex. Quite a few of my stories feature anal sex, and I actually have anal sex myself on a semi-regular basis so I can write from my own experience.
I’ve only ever been on the receiving end of anal (though I think pegging someone would be a lot of fun!) so I can write the “bottom” experience really well.
A part of my enjoyment of writing anal sex is that it’s one of my favorite sexual activities to engage in. I find it incredibly pleasurable and it also makes me feel sufficiently slutty and dirty, which I receive psychological pleasure from. I also really enjoy “watching” my characters derive pleasure from anal and how they share in the experience together.
You can read more of Ambyr’s post by following her link here, but as I read it, I recalled a chapter from my first book, The Night We Met, which describes an anal scene. For both the character and me, it was the first time doing anal. Much like her, I took my time immersing in the scene, steadily increasing the tempo until I reached the final crescendo.
The scene is almost three years old now but still my most viewed post. I hope you enjoy my take on the road less travelled. I think you’ll love in the end.
